Pleasanton Unified School District: Community Partners

Community Partners
The community plays a vital role in support of public education in our town. The Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce created a committee which in 1987 became a separate, non-profit organization known as Pleasanton Partnerships in Education Foundation (PPIE). Small businesses and large corporations both can participate in local schools to help students by providing career information`; by leading two-day seminars for students on decision-making; or by hosting an educator or a student for a day of job-shadowing. Call (925) 846-5620 for more information about PPIE.

Pleasanton Schools Educational Enrichment Foundation (PSEE) taps business partners to set up a perpetual endowment fund to restore, expand and sustain the arts in our schools. Call (925) 485-1964.

Many of our schools have PTAs (Parent Teacher Associations) as their parent groups. The Pleasanton PTA Council is the next organizational level of PTA beyond the school site and addresses issues that are important to parents and public school administrators alike – full funding, excellent teachers, and an environment conducive to quality education for all children. The purpose of the Council, and of all PTA components, is to promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community and place of worship;raise the standards of home life; secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth;bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth;and develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social and spiritual education.

We also benefit from partnerships with the City of Pleasanton, Tri-Valley Business Council and Tri-Valley Community Fund.
