Grading and Homework policies (Revised September 25th, 2009)

The grading scale for all assignments will be as follows:

A             100% - 90%

B              89.9% - 80%

C              79.9% - 70%

D             69.9% - 60%

F              59.9% and below

1.    There will be no rounding up of grades for students who are on the border between grades. 

2.    Participation points are allowed, but are not a required component of the courses.

3.    Extra credit is an option for teachers, but it cannot exceed 3% of a student's grade and cannot be given in the last two weeks of a grading period. No make-up extra credit assignments will be allowed.

4.    Students' grades will run through the semester.

5.    Interactive notebooks are a required component of all grade level social studies classes, except AP classes.

6. Homework will average around 20-30 minutes a night for each class.

7. Beyond those guidelines stated above, teachers may develop specific policies for their course and classroom.

8. Advanced Placement and Honors classes may be exceptions to these stated policies
